Job Summary
Croft Hall Surgery is undergoing changes to improve patient experience and service delivery. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic GP to join the practice. The role is ideally 6-8 sessions per week, with flexibility for the right candidate. This is a salaried GP position with the opportunity to put your own stamp on the practice and meaningful relationships with patients and the multidisciplinary team.
Main Duties
* Manage a caseload and address a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.
* Maintain the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
* Assist in education and training of staff, contribute to target achievement, and support service development.
Job Responsibilities
* Practice as an independent prescriber within the scope of practice.
* Conduct face‑to‑face and telephone consultations with patients having minor illnesses.
* Provide medication review services for patients in practice and, when required, during domiciliary visits to local residential and care homes.
* Offer advice and support for patients with self‑limiting conditions and review medications for newly registered patients.
* Provide subject‑matter expertise on medication monitoring, implement and embed effective systems.
* Carry out targeted medication reviews for high‑risk patients and reauthorise medication for repeat prescribing within scope.
* Identify patients suitable for repeat prescribing and liaise with relevant clinicians.
* Review and implement safe prescribing systems for vulnerable patients to improve compliance.
* Support clinicians in managing patients with drug and alcohol dependencies.
* Actively signpost patients to appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Assist with QOF targets and administer influenza and travel vaccines.
* Serve as the point of contact for all medicines‑related matters, establishing positive working relationships.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* Qualified GP, GMC full registration.
* Membership of a recognised defence union (MPS/MDU).
* MRCGP.
* Currently on a performers list with no detrimental removal.
Desirable
* DRCOG.
* DFP.
* DCH.
Experience
* GP primary care experience.
Profile
* Experience working within a deprivation area.
* EMIS Web experience.
* Docman experience.
