GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a school in the Maltby (S66) area. This role of SEMH TA offers the opportunity to support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, helping them thrive in a safe and structured learning environment.
Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
* Implement and support individual behaviour and learning plans.
* Encourage positive behaviour, social skills, and emotional regulation.
* Support classroom learning and promote engagement with academic tasks.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure holistic pupil development.
* Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs is desirable.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual pupil requirements.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with explanations for any gaps.
