About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optical Assistant to join the team. As an Optical Assistant you will work alongside the clinical team in the day-to-day running of eye care clinics, carrying out diagnostic examinations while maintaining high quality care for all patients.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the running of pre‑ and post‑operative clinicals
* Act as theatre runner/escort ensuring patients receive the highest quality care and assisting the theatre team during surgery
* Support patients throughout their journey with CHEC and report any concerns
* Ensure all equipment is checked and ready for use
* Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities
* Adhere to good record keeping and high standards of quality patient care
What you’ll bring to the role
* Natural ability to empathise with patients and demonstrate genuine care
* Desire to provide the very best quality and safe patient care
* Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Desire and willingness to develop in line with the framework and personal development plan
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and other systems
* The ability to learn and adapt to new internal systems
* Self‑motivated and self‑starter with the ability to prioritise and schedule work independently
* Approachable and friendly manner to welcome patients into the clinic
