We are thrilled to be working with a highly regarded secondary school in Watford, known for its commitment to academic excellence and student development. The school is now looking for an Economics Teacher to join their team on an ASAP start basis.
As an Economics Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping students' understanding of key economic principles, theories, and real-world applications. You will teach across Key Stages 4 and 5, preparing students for exams and helping them develop critical thinking and analytical skills that will benefit them in their future careers.
The Role:
As an Economics Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that help students explore economic concepts, including market structures, supply and demand, fiscal policy, and economic growth. You will guide students through exam preparation and support their independent learning, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed at GCSE and A-Level.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality Economics lessons across KS4 and KS5 (with the possibility of teaching other year groups based on school needs)
Create engaging and interactive lessons that help students understand and apply economic principles in real-world contexts
Provide guidance and support for exam preparation, including essay writing, case studies, and data analysis
Track and assess student progress, offering regular feedback to help students improve their academic performance
Foster a passion for Economics, encouraging critical thinking, debate, and exploration of global economic issues
Collaborate with the department to develop and enhance the Economics curriculum
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated and supported
Ensure effective classroom management and follow the school’s behaviour policies
Participate in extracurricular activities, such as Economics clubs, to further engage students outside of the classroom
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students to ensure the academic success and wellbeing of students
What We’re Looking For:
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (or relevant experience in teaching Economics)
A degree or qualification in Economics, Business, or a related field
Proven experience teaching Economics at the secondary school level, with strong subject knowledge
Passion for Economics and a genuine desire to inspire students and help them achieve their best
Strong communication, classroom management, and organisational skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
A current Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
