Overview
We are looking for an experienced midwife to lead our Governance and compliance team. The post-holder will be a key member of the Maternity Team and integral to governance, risk and compliance, supporting the Divisional General Manager, Director of Midwifery and Clinical Lead. They will deliver evidence‑based assurance that all risk management and regulatory compliance requirements are implemented effectively and sustainably.
Responsibilities
* Undertake Serious Incident (SI) and moderate harm investigations and monitor action plans resulting from them.
* Present findings to senior committees, including PMRT, HSIB, LMNS and, on occasion, the Trust Board.
* Manage the risk register, conduct risk assessments and gap analyses as needed.
* Actively participate in the maternity training group, ensuring learning is fit for purpose and aligns with service needs and national reporting requirements.
Requirements
* Advanced level midwife with a wide range of clinical skills.
* Experience in governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to support junior staff.
* Willingness to take part in managerial and leadership activities at Band 8B level.
