Growing Children’s Home Provider in Sutton Coldfield – Team Leader Opportunity!

* Job Title: Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker

* Home Type: 3 Bedded EBD home – therapeutic PACE approach

* Location: Sutton Coldfield

* Overall package: £35,280 - £37,280 p/a (based on 2 sleep-ins per week)

* Additional Quarterly Bonus & Enhanced Overtime

* Contract: 7:30-22:30, set days over a 3-week rolling rota + sleeps required

* Two completely free weekends in every 3 week rota

Who will you be working for?

This established residential childcare organisation has two “Good” rated EBD homes, a third awaiting registration, and a fourth in planning stages. They have been running for over 5 years, and all their homes are impressive 4-5 bed detached properties registered for up to three children with Ofsted. The homes are all based in affluent areas of Sutton Coldfield and are run by an incredibly experienced senior management team with over 60 years of combined sector experience, including the RI who was previously an Ofsted inspector and two senior Registered Managers.

With the imminent opening of their third home, the company have seen healthy growth and several internal promotions to their team. They are currently looking for ambitious individuals to step in at the Senior level and grow organically alongside them, as their promotees have. They currently operate using principles of PACE and are reviewing newer approaches to therapeutic care such as Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).

The Package & Benefits:

* Basic pay: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications, plus £55 per sleep-in

* Estimated package: Earn up to £37,280 per annum, based on 8 sleep-ins per month (plus opportunity for additional sleeps & overtime)

* Additional Bonuses: Enhanced Overtime Rate & an additional quarterly bonus based on attendance

* Rolling rota: Know your rota! Set days in a three-week rolling pattern which gives you two full weekends off in a three week period!

What Will The Role Entail?

As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will be the backbone of the staff team whilst on shift. You will pull from your experience working in children’s homes to manage and lead your passionate team to ensure smooth operation of the home and second-to-none delivery of care for young people.

The Successful Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker Candidate Will Excel At:

* Communicating effectively with young people, your colleagues, families, and external professionals. Shift-leading, problem-solving, and being calm under pressure is vital for a Senior.

* Key-working with young people, considering their thoughts, wishes, and feelings, promoting life skills and independence, encouraging them to engage in education, activities, and hobbies. Most importantly, readying them for adult life when they leave care.

* Developing and reviewing Ofsted required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments, to name a few.

* Following Ofsted’s regulations related to Quality Standards and understanding safeguarding policies and procedures.

* Understanding the operations of the home regarding Health and Safety, medication administration, cleanliness and finances.

Requirements for the Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker role:

* 2+ years’ experience working specifically within a children’s home environment

* Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

* Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle

* Flexibility to carry out the shift pattern described at the top of the advert, including sleep-ins

* A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and healthy development of young people
