We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and compassionate nurse to join our team as a Specialist Urology Cancer CNS, supporting patients across the entire pathway, including those living with metastatic disease. This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you will act as a key worker, providing expert clinical care alongside vital psychological support to patients and families, coordinating care across the multidisciplinary team for seamless, high-quality, person‑centred care.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert specialist nursing care for patients with metastatic disease.
* Act as a named key worker, offering ongoing clinical, emotional, and psychological support to patients and their families/carers.
* Coordinate complex care pathways, ensuring timely access to investigations, treatments, follow-up, and supportive services.
* Work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), contributing specialist nursing expertise to treatment planning and decision-making.
* Undertake clinical assessment, including recognition and management of treatment‑related complications.
* Provide specialist advice and education to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to support informed decision‑making and self‑management.
* Support patients with metastatic and advanced disease, including symptom management, escalation of care needs, and palliative care coordination where appropriate.
* Maintain high‑level communication across primary, secondary, and tertiary care settings to ensure continuity and consistency of care.
* Contribute to service development, pathway redesign, and quality improvement initiatives within urology cancer services.
* Participate in and lead audit, evaluation, and data collection to ensure compliance with national cancer standards and best practice guidelines.
* Deliver and support education and training for staff, contributing to the development of nursing and multidisciplinary practice.
Qualifications
* A skilled and experienced nurse with a passion for cancer care.
* Strong clinical knowledge within urology and/or oncology.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
