As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with disabilities, autism and those with ongoing mental health support. Duties
* Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
* Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, bathing, dressing, and medication administration.
* Implement individualised care plans tailored to the specific needs of each person.
* Support the clients in social activities and community engagement.
* Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the individual's condition or behaviour.
* Utilise applied behaviour analysis techniques to promote positive behaviours and learning opportunities.
* Monitor adults with mental health related diagnosis who might require a 1:1 support
Skills
* Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is essential.
* Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis principles is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with special education practices and strategies for supporting individuals with autism.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to administer medication safely and responsibly.
* Compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
