Referrals In administrators are anintegral part of the Outpatient team, booking in patients who have beenreferred by their GP ensuring that the process is both efficient andeffective. This is achieved byaccurately processing the referral.
This role holdsresponsibility for processing all incoming referrals and ensuring appointmentsare booked within expected timelines. This role also involves dealing withenquires where a high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, discretion andtact is required.
A degree ofautonomy is an essential ability for this role. The appointed candidate will berequired to think of their feet to deal with enquires, making day-to-daydecisions and escalating when appropriate to the Outpatients Management team.
Weve seen an increase in our patient activityrecently and we would like to expand the team so that we can continue toprovide the excellent standard of care expected of us.
Main duties of the job
Organisation,prioritisation, IT skills and attention to detail will be crucial in this roleas you will be creating referrals on patient records. You will need to reviewthe referral to ensure the first appointment is booked with the appropriateClinician.
Goodcommunication skills will be required to build positive and effectiverelationships with GP Practice and Referral Support Services.
Wewill provide the training necessary to use our inhouse IT systems, however agood working knowledge of Microsoft Office would be beneficial. You will be required to always maintainpatient confidentiality.
Fulltraining will be given on the patient record system and how to complete therole.
