We encourage early applications as we may withdraw the advertising at any time.Play a critical role in shaping a new integrated, intelligence-led approach to the safety camera system As Principal Advisor, you will provide robust strategic advice and analysis to the Safety Camera System Leadership, supporting the deployment and integration of safety cameras across New Zealand. Your work will directly contribute to reducing deaths and serious injuries on our roads, aligning with our Road Safety objectives.You will provide strategic advice and analysis on international best-practice approaches to safety camera systems, advocate for road safety outcomes by demonstrating how safety cameras drive behaviour change, and take a systems view to ensure the effectiveness of the safety camera system. The role involves liaising with key stakeholders to monitor, evaluate, and report on system performance, acting as a conduit for business and technical expertise in planning and deployment, and working collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure a coordinated approach. Additionally, you will support NZTA’s safety camera initiatives by proactively influencing and building behaviour change in line with national Road Safety objectives.This is a key role responsible for contributing to shaping a new integrated, risk-based approach to the safety camera system within NZTA. Experience using research, analytics, and metrics to lead conversations and inform key decisions. Knowledge of evaluation and modelling techniques (including road safety principles) is advantageous.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics and influence a range of audiences. Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence and build credibility at all levels. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a matrix structure, building consensus and commitment to achieve outcomes.
