Oncology Staff Nurse – NHS Scotland
Permanent 26.25 hours per week. Day shift Monday‑Friday variable between 08:30 am – 07:00 pm. Band 5.
Location
Borders Macmillan Centre, Borders General Hospital, Huntlyburn, Melrose, TD6 9BS.
Responsibilities
 * Provide compassionate care to cancer patients in the Day Case Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapy (SACT) Unit.
 * Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
 * Perform pre‑SACT assessments, protocol‑guided analysis of blood results and SACT administration.
 * Support patient education and emotional support.
 * Collaborate with nurses, doctors, pharmacists and other staff to deliver safe, effective cancer care.
Qualifications and Experience
 * Registered General Nurse with experience in oncology or a relevant clinical area.
 * Excellent communication and organisational skills.
 * Desirable: competency and experience in SACT delivery; if not held, willingness to undertake further study in safe delivery of Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapies.
 * Ability to perform independent pre‑SACT assessment and treatment administration.
 * Commitment to professional development.
