An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a leading UK manufacturing business.We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a high-performing Credit Control Department. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment managing a ledger of 1,000+ customers and supporting over 15 branches across the UK and Ireland.
Your new role
The Credit Controller will play a key role in managing customer accounts, reviewing held orders, and ensuring timely payments. You’ll work closely with branches, the sales team, and external stakeholders to resolve queries, assess risk, and maintain strong customer relationships.This position requires sound judgement, excellentmunication skills, and the ability to work confidently across multiple software platforms in a time‑pressured environment.
1. Managing a high-volume ledger covering approx. 1,000 customers.
2. Chasing due and overdue debts via phone, email, and workflow software.
3. Reviewing daily held orders and making informed release decisions.
4. Investigating and resolving queries in collaboration with branches and customers.
5. Sending copy invoices, credit notes, and PODs when required.
6. Monitoring accounts for adherence to payment terms and credit limits.
7. Stopping accounts where necessary and escalating concerns appropriately.
8. Obtaining and analysing credit agency reports and financial accounts.
9. Assessing credit risk for new and existing customers.
10. Supporting legal escalation processes for defaulting accounts.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally CICM‑qualified or studying toward it, you will bring strong experience in collections and order release- preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment with a branch network. You will be confident using a range of systems,fortable making decisions under pressure, and able tomunicate effectively at all levels.

26. Salary: £30,000–£31,000 (dependent on experience)
27. Contract: Permanent
28. Probation: Standard 6 months (flexible)
29. Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm with 1-hour lunch
