The role is accountable for the Site Process Engineering team tackling Site Process Engineering challenges across new and existing products, technology, process design, process optimisation and process control for the Swindon facility. The position will lead the Site Process Engineering team to be the process experts on site for all manufacturing processes and a key part of the role will be to lead and manage the Process Engineers to support problem solving activities to address processing issues by working with multifunctional teams on site.
Your responsibilities:
* Lead and participate with the Process Engineering team to deliver Process Engineering goals in line with business priorities and the 10 x 10 strategy.
* Manage training and development of the Process Engineering team.
* Ensure Health and Safety policies are adhered to through all aspects of accountabilities and identify opportunities for EHS improvements
* Own site process capability window and identify risks for any new products as part of the industrialisation process
* Responsible for site engineering accountabilities of industrialisation of new products and successful handover to Production. Prepare structured trial plans to understand and optimise coating products produced at Swindon Hydrogen Technologies site
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the NPI process including Sector Process Engineering, Commercial, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain and Production
* Own local requirements for new production assets. Work closely with project teams locally and externally to ensure these requirements are included during specification and procurement of equipment and validate these are met during project delivery
* Track and manage handover of asset information and documentation to all operational teams at Swindon Hydrogen Technologies site
Requirements for the role:
* Degree / Qualification in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering / Chemistry (Materials / Polymer)
* Experience of working within a highly regulated COMAH facility and knowledge of associated requirements
* Knowledge of NPI processes within an automotive manufacturing environment (eg. TS 16949)
* Knowledge of Coating and Deposition operations
* Experience of Coating particularly on volume manufacturing lines.
* Demonstrated ability to lead multifunctional teams to solve complex problems
