PE Global is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer in Peterborough. The role is an initial 12-month contract and the rate is £26.26 PAYE or £35.64 Umbrella p/hour.
Monday to Thursday 7:00 to 4:00 pm and Friday -7:00 -11:00 am with 5% travel expected within the UK.
Responsibilities:
* Lead Manufacturing Engineering activities across NPI gateways (G1–G6)
* Own readiness reviews and ensure ME deliverables are approved at each stage
* Design and implement production processes
* Develop and maintain: PFMEA, Control Plans, Standard Work, Process documentation
* Manage tooling, fixtures, and equipment from concept to commissioning
* Support prototype, pilot, and validation builds
* Collaborate with Product Engineering on DFM and change management
* Support PPAP, capability studies, and launch readiness
* Act as ME lead in technical reviews and programme governance
Requirements:
Essential:
* Minimum 5 years’ Manufacturing Engineering experience
* Strong background in: Production process design & implementation, Project management, Communication & stakeholder engagement
* Experience in assembly and automation environments
Preferred Industry Background:
* Automotive
* Aerospace
* Advanced manufacturing
Tools & Systems:
* Microsoft 365
* 2D AutoCAD (layouts)
* Creo or Fusion 360 (3D modelling)
* Teamcenter (PLM) – desirable but not essential
Qualifications
* Degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline
