Teacher of Cooking & Nutrition MPS/UPR (or Unqualified 1-6 if unqualified) SEN2 (additional paid evening activities may be available) £31,650 (£21731 for unqualifed) - £49,084 £5,285 Permanent Required from 1st September 2025 Due to the retirement of the current postholder, we are seeking to appoint a high quality teacher of Cooking and Nutrition to join our team on the Windlestone Site (DL17 0HP). Elemore Hall is a long established Durham LA maintained residential and day special school for 200 secondary aged pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Many of our pupils have additional learning difficulties and needs. We have consistently provided a high quality provision for our pupils recognised regionally and by Ofsted in both residential care and education inspections. In September 2021 we expanded significantly and became a thriving three site provision consisting of two 90 place main school sites and a twenty place KS4 provision for pupils with more complex SEMH difficulties. All pupils follow a course in Cooking & Nutrition from Y7-11, it is a very popular subject. The subject teachers from both main sites work together to develop a vibrant and effective curriculum leading to accreditation including BTec Home Cookery Skills. Teachers at the school are encouraged to be involved in the provision of activities in our extended day/residential programme (this is not compulsory and is negotiated individually, but is paid).
