Job Description
Geoenvironmental/Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist – Full time, Northamptonshire. Excellent opportunity to join a growing consultancy as part of a team of geotechnical and environmental engineers based in a beautiful setting. The client is looking for a Geoenvironmental/Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist with at least 2-3 years’ experience to join their expanding team.
Main role and duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting and managing ground investigation work across the UK as directed by Senior Engineers. Key responsibilities include:
1. Working as a geo-environmental / geotechnical professional with at least 2-3 years of experience.
2. Participating in both outdoor and office-based work throughout the year.
3. Soil and rock logging to current geotechnical standards, including laboratory scheduling.
4. Participating in various geotechnical and geo-environmental projects for external clients and internal teams.
5. Writing factual and interpretative reports (desk studies, ground investigations, earthworks, remediation strategies, CMRAs).
6. Site supervision of ground investigations, earthworks, and construction activities.
7. Collating geological/geotechnical data and report writing.
8. Managing site activities and subcontractors, writing RAMS, and liaising with clients.
Experience, qualifications, and attributes
* Minimum BSc in geology, geography, or environmental science related degree.
* At least 2-3 years of industry experience as a Geo-environmental/Geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist/site engineer.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); familiarity with Holebase and CAD is desirable.
* Must hold a full, clean driving licence.
* Willingness to travel across the UK and stay away from home when required.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Good written English skills.
* Enjoys working outdoors and in an office environment.
