We have an opportunity for a flexible, motivated enthusiastic individual to join our urology specialist nursing team. This is a part time substantive post 30 hrs per week and band 6/7 dependant on experience.
The post-holder will provide high quality specialist nursing care to patients with bladder cancer.
1. Co-ordinate and implement an overall strategy of evidence-based care for a caseload of patients, alongside the lead consultant for bladder cancer. For patients across trust hospital sites.
2. To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the assessment, primary and/ or secondary diagnosis, management, and evaluation of treatment/ and or care for a caseload of patients.
3. Provide intravesical therapies for bladder cancer
Main duties of the job
4. High standards of Professional Practice to ensure quality and safety of patient care, experience, and the bladder cancer patient’s journey.
5. Assess, plan and implement complex care.
6. Lead specialist in clinical area.
7. Provides highly specialist advice and treatment planning support to clinical areas and to own caseload of patients.
8. Provides specialist education to other staff and students ensuring, developing and maintaining basic specialist knowledge and skills in the wider clinical teams to ensure continuity of high-quality care in the absence of the specialist teams.
9. Leads clinical audits in clinical area and may undertake research and development.
10. Involvement in the productivity and financial management of a clinical area
11. Leading by example.
12. Ensuring clinical services are delivered to a high quality of care and that all compliance requirements such as CQC and contractual requirements are achieved.

Analytical and Judgement skills:
14. Lead on the complex assessment of specialist patient conditions, where factors may be conflicting, requiring high level analysis and interpretation skills and the comparison of a range of options to achieve effective treatment or discharge planning
15. To develop clinically reasoned treatment, action and discharge plans and to undertake and evaluate treatment.
16. To develop the above skill set with the staff for whom you have a responsibility to train
