We are about to embark on the merger of 2 administration teams in providing both outpatient and radiology administration. This full time permanent post working across East Lancashire Hospitals Trust hospital sites, would be based at Royal Blackburn Hospital. the role will include travelling and providing managerial support over 4 sites.
A flexible approach to work is essential with a willingness to work at other Trust sites between the hours of 8am and 6pm, as you would be required to support and manage staff and ensure that there is adequate cover for holidays or sickness absence.

The successful applicant will provide comprehensive managerial support to all reception staff and radiology admin staff across 4 sites.
Main duties of the job
* Operationally manage and provide leadership for the administration and clerical aspects of the Outpatient Reception and Radiology booking team and Radiology reception teams to ensure the delivery of a high quality, modern and patient centred service
* Review and improve department systems and processes to ensure they are a streamlined as possible. Utilisation of digital process to support the delivery of this.
* Ensure that an effective communication network exists within the Radiology booking team and Radiology reception teams and Outpatient Reception Department to ensure all staff are aware of corporate and directorate aims and objectives.
* Manage, maintain and monitor the cost effectiveness of the department and ensure that there are timely and effective reviews to ensure the is adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
* Responsible for the selection, recruitment, training and development of staff in accordance with agreed Trust Policies and Procedures for staff.
* Maintain appropriate staff records, staff training records and set objectives and personal development plans for staff as part of the annual personal development review system.
* Ensure the training needs for all staff are identified on an annual basis via Staff Personal Development Review.
* Provide effective leadership and management to ensure that all staff work in a professional manner, reviewing staff workloads to ensure that staffing levels/skill mix and other resources meet the needs of the service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will work as part of the Centralised Outpatient and Administration Directorate management team. this directorate also covers Community reception, centralised Booking Centre and General Outpatients nursing teams
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of the Outpatient hospital and Radiology receptions and Radiology booking Team. Providing leadership and excellent communication to the teams. To ensure that they are fully engaged and motivated at work.
The post holder will ensure that their team have the knowledge, skills and experience required to undertake their role. This should include personal development plans so that they can achieve their full potential.
The post holder will work collaboratively and closely with the Radiology Department and specialties, to deliver highly effective administration functions as needed.

* Knowledge of Cerner Millennium and or Radiology systems
* Ability to analyse complex data and to act accordingly
