Overview
Our partner specialist SEND school in the Offerton area is seeking a compassionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and complex needs. You will be part of a caring team, working to help each student feel safe, understood, and able to reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality support to pupils with additional needs in classroom and small-group settings.
* Recognise that behaviour is a symptom of unmet need; respond holistically and empathetically.
* Work alongside class teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver differentiated interventions.
* Help pupils develop academic, social, emotional, and life skills.
* Contribute to planning, monitoring, and evaluation of individual support plans.
Person Specification / Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people who have SEND (in school, specialist settings, or residential).
* An understanding of ASC, SEMH, ADHD, and complex needs.
* Patience, empathy, resilience, and the ability to build trustworthy relationships.
* Ability to adapt strategies to meet pupil needs.
* A positive, solution-focused approach and a commitment to inclusion.
