Pilgrims Vets has an exciting opportunity for a new receptionist to join their team. The successful person will join our exceptional reception team who are supported across both practices by a strong team of 7 Vets, 4 registered veterinary nurses and 2 training veterinary nurse at our Fordingbridge practice and our Cranborne branch.
Pilgrims is based in the beautiful New Forest with countless scenic walks and countryside to explore, as well as being 30 minutes from stunning beaches along the south coast.
Being a mixed practice, not only will you get to see dogs, cats and small furries. We get plenty of chickens and the occasional goat, alpaca, lamb or horse attend the practice as well as our vets attending visits outside of the practice.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
*Greeting clients and their pets on arrival
*Efficiently managing the diaries, booking/cancelling or re-arranging appointments, handling online bookings and maintaining client records
*General Administration duties as requested
*Processing payments, cashing up at the end of the day
*Managing client orders and repeat prescriptions

Our main branch is in Fordingbridge, our equipment includes Digital X-ray, dental radiography, Ultrasound & Idexx blood analyser. We have just invested in new VETSCAN IMAGYST laboratory equipment, Digital endoscope and new equine dental equipment.
Our branch practice in Cranborne is stocked with surgical facilities.
We are a close-knit team that enjoy social outings, as well as the time we spend together in practice, and have a very friendly client base
The perfect fit
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual passionate about delivering outstanding client care. Able to apply a calm, compassionate, and professional approach is essential, especially in emotionally challenging situations.
Successful candidates should have prior reception experience, ideally in the veterinary sector, though this is not essential, as additional training will be provided. Have excellent communication skills. Enjoy building strong relationships with our clients, taking pride in delivering a high standard of service.
Your shift pattern
You will work primarily at our main surgery in Fordingbridge, with occasional cover at our branch practice. The role offers 24.5 hours per week, Monday 8:30 am - 6:30 pm, Tuesday 8:30 am - 6:30 pm, Friday 8:30 am - 2 pm. Occasional Saturday mornings would be offered on a share basis amongst the team to cover holidays and sickness.
