Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Aylesbury
Term: Permanent
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
An established engineering company based in Aylesbury is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic design department working on a variety of mechanical systems and components.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following:
* Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD software)
* A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a mechanical design role
* Experience with heat exchangers would be highly desirable
* Good knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
* Producing detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings
* Designing mechanical components and systems for a range of applications
* Working closely with production, quality, and project teams to ensure designs meet specification
* Creating and maintaining BOMs and technical documentation
* Assisting in prototype build and testing phases
* Contributing to design improvements and value engineering initiatives
