Edinburgh Dental Specialists is looking for a motivated and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our highly respected specialist practice in the heart of Edinburgh.

The Role
* Saturdays - 9:00am – 1:00pm to start with a view to increase days
* Established patient list from day one
* Fully private practice
* Modern clinical environment with advanced dental technology
* Full support from an experienced nursing and administrative team
You must be a GDC-registered Dental Hygienist with a passion for delivering high-quality preventative and periodontal care.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a full range of dental hygiene treatments, including scaling, polishing, and non-surgical periodontal therapy
* Assess patients’ oral health and identify signs of periodontal disease
* Provide preventative treatments and oral health advice
* Educate and motivate patients to maintain excellent oral hygiene
* Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment notes
* Adhere to all infection prevention and control protocols
* Work collaboratively with specialists, dentists, and the wider practice team
* Deliver an exceptional patient experience through clear communication and compassionate care
* Participate in continuing professional development and maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge
Essential Requirements
* Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene
* Current General Dental Council (GDC) registration
* Valid DBS/PVG clearance
* Previous experience working as a Dental Hygienist
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational and clinical abilities
* Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care
* Confident using digital clinical systems and technology
Desirable
* Experience managing periodontal patients
* Experience working within a specialist or referral environment
* Interest in patient education and preventative dentistry
* Familiarity with digital dentistry and modern clinical technologies
