You’ll be a self‐starter who brings structure where needed, adapts quickly, and contributes confidently within agile, multi‐disciplinary teams. Your work will directly shape the systems and processes that enable Stats NZ to deliver a world‐class census.• **Lead business engagement across diverse teams** You’ll work closely with stakeholders from across the organisation, building trust, facilitating discovery, and translating business needs into clear, actionable insights. Your ability to navigate different perspectives will ensure the Census Processing System is both robust and fit‐for‐purpose.**• Shape the project approach and keep delivery momentum high** You will actively contribute to project planning and prioritisation, helping the team focus on what matters most. By supporting agile ways of working and enabling incremental delivery, you’ll play a key role in removing blockers and maintaining forward progress.**• Manage analysis across multiple interconnected workstreams** The census touches every part of the organisation, so your analysis will span a wide range of processes and systems. You’ll balance competing demands, align requirements across workstreams, and ensure everything fits together seamlessly.**• Share knowledge and uplift the BA practice** You’ll contribute to and lead sessions within our Business Analyst Community of Practice, helping shape our standards, foster collaboration, and uplift capability across the wider team.You will have:**• Relevant tertiary qualification, professional certification, or equivalent experience** Your background gives you the confidence to tackle complex problems and guide others through them.**• 5+ years of hands‐on business analysis experience** You’ll be fluent in BA tools, methods, and frameworks, and able to apply them to real‐world problems in a pragmatic, value‐driven way.**• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments** You’ve worked closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and cross‐functional teams to deliver iterative improvements, and you understand how to make agile ways of working successful.**• Confidence working in ambiguity and complexity** This programme moves quickly and evolves often — we need someone who can make progress even when not everything is known, and who brings clarity where it’s most needed.**What you bring | Nōu te rourou**We understand transferable skills can come from experience gained from outside of work.
