Job Description
Head of HR £60,000 – £80,000 London, UK Permanent We are seeking an experienced HR professional who is confident working autonomously in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge across core HR practices and responsibilities, bringing both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery within a fast-paced workplace. The ideal candidate will be people-oriented and skilled at building trust at all levels. You will lead by example, set clear expectations and help create a culture that supports accountability and high performance. What you’ll do:
* Lead employee engagement, wellbeing and culture strategy.
* Serve as HR lead and partner to the CEO and leadership team.
* Provide people insights and reporting to leadership and the board.
* Manage the full employee lifecycle, supporting engagement and performance.
* Confident in handling complex cases independently, providing practical HR advice and support.
* Lead and evolve the global people strategy to support growth and performance.
* Drive HR operations, systems and policies ensuring compliance and commercial alignment.
* Handle payroll processes with external providers ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Oversee recruitment and support workforce planning through hiring strategy.
What you’ll need:
* Significant HR experience, ideally within retail or similarly fast-paced environments.
* Proven experience in a senior HR or Head of People role.
* Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders.
* Excellent communicator, confident in building relationships and challenging constructively.
* Experience across performance management and employee engagement.
* Commercially minded, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
* Calm, resilient and highly organised, able to work autonomously with strong ownership.
* Experience using HR systems/platforms.
