Your Role
We are looking for an Experienced and enthusiastic Social Worker who wants to make a difference to people’s first contact with Adult Social Care and the Urgent Community Response Team.
About You
As an Experienced Social Worker, you will have successfully completed an ASYE programme and be working towards if not already achieved a progressive level within Social Work
* Experienced Social Worker registered with Social Work England
* To have already completed the ASYE programme, with certificate
* Experience of Social Work intervention and assessment within an Adults statutory setting or Health setting.
* Knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the post (Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act 1998, GDPR).
* Knowledge and application of Strengths based and person-centred working. Incorporating risk management and use of Social Work models and theories.
* Knowledge and understanding of partnership working and the positive impact this brings to people in receipt of services.
* Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding Adults and Children, incorporating Statutory Safeguarding and Non-Statutory Safeguarding aspects.
* High level of written and oral communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people from all levels within the organisation and community.
* Negotiation and advocacy skills
* Ability to manage an autonomous diary, prioritising duty and same day response work where required.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to that team’s development.
* Demonstrate experience of undertaking effective assessments with strengths-based outcomes, focusing on the individual.
* Understanding of stressful situations, its impact, and effective management techniques.
As a team member, you will work alongside Health colleagues to shape, develop and evaluate our effectiveness as an Urgent Community Response Service. We are committed to investing in our team members through regular Social Work supervision, peer support, we offer a robust training plan and a personalised development plan.
About Us

This vacancy has a direct link to our Front Door Team, which is a key and valued service within Adult Social Care’ Operating Model.
The overall team consists of Social Workers, Social Care Officers, Referral and Information Officers and Occupational Therapists. Together we are the first point of contact for residents and professionals who need advice and support from a range of services, agencies or community offers. The team works closely with partners such as NWAS, GMP, Stockport Family and ASC teams to triage and prioritise referrals to ensure people receive a timely and appropriate response to their enquiry.
You will be joining a service area where strong collaborative relationships already exist between partners such as Stockport Foundation Trust, Stockport Homes, the Police, Drug and Alcohol Team and Third Party Community Services.
