Job Overview
We seek a motivated Medical Secretary to support the Perinatal Mental Health Team at Dorothy Pattison Hospital, Walsall. The role involves providing secretarial support to a Consultant Psychiatrist and team, managing appointments, and attending multidisciplinary meetings.
Main Duties
* Prioritize and coordinate workload independently and as part of a team
* Attend meetings and follow up actions
* Maintain medical records and book appointments
* Use IT systems such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, RIO, and digital dictation (Bighand)

The post involves acting as the first point of contact for the medical team, providing comprehensive secretarial support.
Requirements
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* AMSPAR Diploma and medical secretarial experience or equivalent
* Proficiency in MS Office and patient information systems
* Relevant qualifications such as RSA/OCR Level 3 in typing/word processing
Person Specification
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths
* Relevant secretarial experience, preferably in NHS
* Understanding of confidentiality and line management experience
* Strong audio and typing skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication skills and professionalism
