We are seeking to establish a pool of Home Economics Assistant’s for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

The role of the Home Economics Assistant will include assisting teachers in the delivery of planned education programs, assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment by maintaining equipment, materials and resources for use in classes, undertaking regular cleaning activities as directed and assisting the teacher with the care and supervision of students. Computer literacy would be highly desirable.

As the Home Economics Assistant, the suitable applicants should have a proactive, positive approach to the role and will be able to work well autonomously as well as part of a team. You will ideally be able to prioritise tasks well, display initiative and will be highly organised and efficient.

2. obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
3. consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
