The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Intermediate OR Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hybrid role, with flexibility to work from home while attending the Nottingham office a few times per week.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and design mechanical building services systems, including Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Public Health and Plant Rooms.
* Produce detailed design packages: schematics, layouts, calculations, and specifications
* Deliver mechanical designs across project stages (Stage 3 – Stage 5)
* Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards, regulations, and energy efficiency targets
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams for integrated building services solutions
* Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure the quality and compliance of installations
* Attend client meetings and liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and consultants
* Mentor and support junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends, standards, technologies, and best practices
About You:
* Minimum HNC Qualified.
* Minimum 4 years’ experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy or contractor environment
* Strong proficiency with AutoCAD for mechanical services drawings (essential)
* Experience with Revit MEP (preferred) — or willingness to develop skills
* Proven experience delivering detailed mechanical design at Stage 4+
* Strong technical understanding of mechanical design principles and UK regulations
* Ability to manage multiple projects, work to deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative team skills
* Based in Nottinghamshire or within daily commuting distance to Nottingham city centre
* Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
