Junior Estimator - National Fit Out Contractor

We are a leading national Fit Out Contractor, delivering high-quality projects across the commercial, retail, leisure, and workplace sectors. Due to continued growth and an expanding pipeline of work, we are looking to appoint a motivated and ambitious Junior Estimator to join our pre-construction team.
The Role
As a Junior Estimator, you will play a key role supporting the preparation of competitive tenders for fit out and refurbishment projects typically ranging from £100k to £5m+. Working closely with Senior Estimators, Project Managers, and the wider pre-construction team, you will develop your skills and gain full exposure to the tendering and pricing process.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for fit out and refurbishment projects
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents
* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate quotations
* Help prepare bills of quantities and schedules of rates
* Maintain and update cost databases
* Support value engineering exercises and alternative cost proposals
* Work collaboratively with the pre-construction team to ensure high-quality tender submissions
* Contribute to handover meetings and support the delivery team as required
About You
We're looking for someone driven, detail-focused, and keen to build a long-term career in estimating.
Essential:
* Strong numerical aptitude and analytical thinking
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* A willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
* Degree or HNC/HND in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
* Experience within a fit out, construction, or interiors environment (placement or 6-12 months+ advantageous)
* Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, Bluebeam)
