About the Role:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with an individual child, providing personalized support to help them succeed in the classroom. You’ll work alongside the class teacher and SEN team to create a positive, inclusive learning experience tailored to the child’s unique needs and abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN, helping them engage with the curriculum
* Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
* Encourage and promote social and emotional development
* Support the child with classroom activities, both academic and non-academic
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the child’s needs are met
About You:
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN (desirable)
* A patient, understanding, and nurturing approach to working with children
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
* Passionate about fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
* A relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant Level 2/3, SEN qualification) is desirable but not essential
