English Teacher Maidstone — Long-Term Contract Start: After October Half Term Until Christmas Holidays. Supply Desk are delighted to be supporting a highly regarded and popular secondary school in Maidstone in their search for a passionate and adaptable English Teacher to join their dedicated English department after the October half term break. This full-time role will run until the Christmas holidays, with full teaching responsibilities, including planning and marking. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and energetic department in a school known for its positive learning environment and strong community ethos.
The Role
* Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons to students across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is beneficial but not essential).
* Take full classroom responsibility, including planning and marking.
* Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment where all students can achieve.
* Collaborate closely with the established English department and contribute to shared planning.
* Be an adaptable team player who can hit the ground running and support learners effectively.
* Participate in department and whole-school activities where possible.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school setting.
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
* A positive, flexible, and team-oriented approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* A valid DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
