An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Pharmacist – Orthopaedics to join our dedicated Pharmacy Department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. In this role, you will work alongside the Lead Pharmacist – General Surgery to lead and enhance the clinical pharmacy service dedicated to the Surgical Division.
Responsibilities
* Operate at a senior level within the service, assuming an influential role in patient care pathways while further developing clinical expertise.
* Lead and manage day-to-day delivery of clinical pharmacy services to the Orthopaedic Directorate.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote clinical and cost‑effective prescribing practices based on evidence‑based guidelines.
* Develop, audit, and monitor Medicines Management processes within the service.
* Provide training and supervision to departmental staff.
Qualifications
* Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy.
* Prescribing qualification or willingness to obtain one.
* Strong communication and leadership abilities.
* Experience in a clinical environment.
* Evidence of prior multidisciplinary teamwork is highly desirable.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development.
