An engineering and manufacturing company specialising in advanced security detection and inspection equipment are looking for a Buyer to join them on a 12-month contract in Redhill.
Managing and liaising with current suppliers, being responsible for placing orders and managing processes. Supporting the operational supply chain using an MRP system.
Responsibilities:
Place and manage purchase orders with precision and timeliness.
Attend procurement and cross-functional meetings at our Crawley manufacturing site.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Support cost reduction initiatives and benchmark supply chain competitiveness.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Engineering teams on NPI projects.
Assist the Senior Buyer with negotiations and strategic sourcing.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards through process documentation.
Resolve supplier invoice queries and manage demand requests.
Ensure suppliers consistently meet cost, quality, and delivery targets (Total Cost of Ownership).
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
Office-based availability with some flexibility
