Role: Full-Stack Software Engineer
About the Role
Our client is a fast-growing people intelligence SaaS startup, headquartered in Dublin and expanding into the UK. They are hiring a hands-on Full-Stack Software Engineer to help maintain, extend, and evolve their core platform as the business scales.
This is a genuine product role in a growth-stage startup. You will work closely with the founders and an existing contract development team, with real influence over technical decisions, architecture, and future product direction. The platform is already live and in use, so this role is about building, improving, and scaling - not greenfield experimentation for its own sake.
Longer term, there is clear scope for this role to grow into a very senior, founding-type engineering position as the UK presence expands.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Developing and maintaining new features across a production SaaS platform.
* Owning backend-heavy full-stack work using JavaScript and TypeScript, with supporting frontend development in React.
* Maintaining, refactoring, and optimising existing systems for performance, scalability, and security.
* Working directly with the founders on product requirements, technical trade-offs, and delivery priorities.
* Integrating AI-driven capabilities, including LLMs and agentic AI components, into the platform.
* Contributing to architectural decisions and setting engineering best practices as the platform scales.
* Operating with a high degree of autonomy in a remote, fast-moving startup environment.
Ideal Background
* Proven experience as a Full-Stack Software Engineer, operating at mid or senior level.
* Strong backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript; Python experience is beneficial.
* Experience building and maintaining SaaS platforms, ideally within a startup or scale-up environment.
* Solid cloud experience, ideally AWS, with exposure to modern infrastructure and deployment practices.
* Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
* Comfortable working with APIs (REST; Protocol Buffers exposure is useful).
* Able to work independently, communicate clearly, and take ownership without heavy oversight.
* Based in, or aligned to, the Dublin time zone, with willingness to travel to Dublin occasionally.
What You’ll Receive
* A competitive salary package aligned to mid–senior level experience.
* A meaningful equity stake through a generous Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
* Fully remote working with flexibility and trust.
* Direct access to founders and real influence over product and technical direction.
* The opportunity to grow with the company as it expands into the UK and beyond.
Who Should Apply
This role suits an engineer who enjoys ownership, variety, and responsibility. Someone comfortable in a startup environment, who likes building real products used by real customers, and who wants to grow into a highly senior role over time rather than sit in a narrowly defined lane.
If you have SaaS startup experience, strong backend skills, and want to help shape both a product and an engineering function as it scales, this role will suit you well.
