We are seeking an experienced and motivatedElectrical Contracts Manager to oversee and coordinate electrical projects within the new build housing sector. This pivotal role requires an organised individual with a strong background in managing electricians and electrical projects, ideally with a minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience. Proven leadership and management skills are vital to this position as well as excellent organisational skills. It is important that the candidate has the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a calm, professional approach. Strong problem solving and decision making skills are crucial and the candidate must also have a good understanding of the current health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Managing Subcontractors / Employees
* Managing the day-to-day running of the electrical works and subcontractors on your designated sites
* Ensuring staff are on site, on time, their work is up to standard, and they are engaged in their role
* Providing technical advice and problem solving when necessary
* Helping to recruit new staff when required
* Carrying out regular Toolbox Talks
* Managing holiday requests
Quality Control
* Making sure all works are carried out as requested and to a good standard
* Material control, ensuring there is no wastage, they are being stored adequately and there is no discrepancy in quantities etc
* Ensuring that all relevant regulations are adhered to
* Completing regular audits and backing up to company drive
* Ensuring that any snags/incomplete items are completed in the designated time frame
Site/Contracts Supervision
* Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with all safety and BS7671 standards.
* Ensuring that all Site Instructions/variations are recorded, completed and claimed for accurately and in a timely fashion
* As above for Sales Extras / additions
* Coordinate procurement and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
* Building good relationships with site management, acting as a key contact and ensuring potential problems are dealt with efficiently
* Monitoring build programmes, ensuring deadlines are met to and up-to-date information is being delivered to all levels of the business
* Making sure drawing revisions are logged and clearly communicated when necessary
* Assisting with gathering monthly stage payment applications for each site
* Familiarizing yourself with different customers, sites & specifications
* Sending out test certification to the relevant site personnel
General Responsibilities
* Prioritising workload and establishing the best practices to benefit the business
* Maintain regular communication with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
* NICEIC Qualified Supervisor role for signing off Test Sheets
* Assisting with customer cares when required
