Job Summary
Coventry and Warwickshire provides a dynamic service for children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders. You will deliver Occupational Therapy (OT) assessment and intervention for clients who may be autistic, have ADHD, and Developmental Dyspraxia. A holistic approach is required, addressing cognitive, motor, sensory, emotional and mental health needs to support daily function and well‑being.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide OT assessment and intervention for children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, ADHD, and developmental dyspraxia.
* Deliver a holistic approach addressing cognitive, motor, sensory, emotional and mental health needs to support daily function and well‑being.
* Provide advice and consultation to other professionals, improving awareness and support for neurodivergent children across the children's directorate.
* Attend multidisciplinary and multiagency forums to support case discussions and formulation from an OT perspective.
* Support and supervise OT Assistants and student placements within the team.
* Work autonomously and collaboratively with health and education staff as part of a multidisciplinary, multiagency team in community settings such as schools, clinics and family homes.
* Travel across Coventry & Warwickshire as required, requiring a car owner/driver or suitable alternative transport.
Essential Qualifications
* Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent.
Essential Knowledge & Skills
* Excellent written communication.
* Excellent verbal communication.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to identify when to seek support.
* Demonstrates ability to reflect on practice with peers/clinical supervisor.
* Experience delegating work and supervising others.
* Knowledge of neurodevelopmental disorders.
* Previous relevant experience working with children or adults with neurodevelopmental disorders.
* Considerable experience as a qualified occupational therapist.
* Clinical experience in the areas of mental and/or physical health including sensory processing difficulties.
