Building Insurance Claims Surveyor

Location: South Yorkshire

Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent

Salary: £38,000 – £40,000 per year (DOE)

Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8-hour shifts

About Us

Burngreave Building Co is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Building Insurance Claims Surveyor to join our expanding Claims Management Team.

We specialise in managing property insurance claims and carrying out high-quality reinstatement works for insurers and intermediaries. If you have experience in insurance repairs, claims handling, or property surveying — this could be the perfect next step in your career.

The Role

As a Building Insurance Claims Surveyor, you'll be responsible for overseeing a wide range of insurance-related building repairs across residential and commercial properties.

Working closely with our Contracts Manager, planners, and schedulers, you'll ensure claims progress smoothly while delivering excellent customer service and accurate technical input.

Key Responsibilities


• Carry out detailed surveys of insurance-related property claims.


• Prepare accurate scopes of works for reinstatement.


• Liaise with Contracts Manager, planners, and schedulers to move claims forward efficiently.


• Manage DFE submissions, interim payments, and claim finances.


• Ensure final accounts are correctly prepared and invoiced.


• Handle a range of perils including fire, flood, escape of water, and storm damage.


• Maintain high standards of customer service throughout the claims process.

What We're Looking For


• Strong knowledge of building insurance and claims processes.


• Technical understanding of domestic and commercial repairs.


• Experience preparing work programmes.


• Familiarity with claims software
(Symbility, Pulse, Xactimate
– desirable but not essential).


• Up-to-date knowledge of health & safety regulations.


• Highly organised, with excellent communication and customer service skills.


• IT literate and quick to learn new systems.


• Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
