Business Development Manager – Premium Wood Products (UK)
Mackinnon Bruce is working with a long-standing partner on an opportunity for an experienced sales professional to join a leading organisation within the premium wood product sector as a Business Development Manager, supporting growth across both the residential and commercial markets in Guildford and surrounding postcodes.
This position is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities while managing and expanding existing accounts. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable regional growth, strengthening customer relationships, and promoting a diverse portfolio of high-quality design-led products.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, scrutinise, and qualify new business opportunities across multiple market sectors.
* Develop and nurture a sustainable pipeline of opportunities while cultivating strong customer partnerships.
* Assess and qualify opportunities to ensure alignment with customer needs and organisational capability.
* Collaborate closely with a Business Development Executive (BDE) to drive year-on-year regional and national growth.
* Re-engage dormant accounts and educate the market on new and existing product solutions.
* Act as a consultant, understanding challenges, delivering solutions, and differentiating the brand within a competitive market.
* Conduct client outreach via calls, emails, social channels, and in-person meetings.
* Deliver CPDs, lunch & learns, and represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions.
* Maintain accurate CRM records, generate reports, and provide market insights to support commercial decision-making.
* Serve as a brand ambassador, demonstrating market expertise and reinforcing the company’s value proposition.
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in business development, account management, or solution-led sales.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong consultative selling capability.
* Research-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Highly organised, tenacious, and results-oriented, with experience working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
* Confident telephone manner and relationship-building skills.
* Familiarity with CRM platforms and lead management processes.
* Demonstrates commercial awareness, adaptability, customer focus, and resilience.
