Job Title: Water Production Controller

Location: Durrington, Worthing

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 38

Salary: £29,800 + 15% shift allowance

About the role:

We’re transforming our Operational Control Centre and are looking for a Water Production Controller to join our diverse team. Controllers are the backbone of our water and wastewater services, ensuring a continuous supply of safe, high-quality drinking water to 1.2 million customers across a water-stressed region.

What you will be responsible for:

As a Water Production Controller, you’ll work in our Durrington office as part of a 24/7 team, monitoring telemetry systems, managing alarms, making network changes, and coordinating field teams to keep water flowing.

This is a critical role where problem-solving, analytical thinking, and confidence with IT systems are key.

We are looking for people that enjoy problem solving, analysing and work proactively using your own initiative. The role is office based and suitable candidates ideally have confidence in working with multiple IT systems and telephone skills.

Shift Summary

1. Average Weekly Hours: 28 hours per week
2. Annual Leave: Built into your rotation
3. Shift Pattern:
4. 6-week cycle of 12-hour shifts
5. Includes day and night rotations:
6. 3 days on → 7 days off
7. 4 days on → 7 days off
8. 3 nights on → 7 days off
9. 4 nights on → 7 days of off
10. Additional Duties: Some standby periods and extra cover may be required, which will be discussed during the interview.

What you’ll bring to the role:

11. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
12. Ability to work proactively and use your own initiative
13. Confidence with multiple IT systems and excellent communication skills

14. Live within approximately one hour’s commute of our Durrington office, or
15. Are willing to relocate if successful.
