Supply hive are looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join their growing team in a nurturing setting that supports young people aged 9–19 who have experienced emotionally based school non-attendance, high anxiety and disrupted education. The school provides personalised teaching, therapeutic support and real-world life skills to help pupils rebuild confidence and prepare for future pathways including employment, apprenticeships and further training. This role involves working closely with teachers to support pupils in and out of the classroom, helping them access learning, build resilience and make meaningful progress both academically and socially. You’ll play a key role in supporting behaviour, wellbeing and engagement, while contributing to a positive and structured learning environment. Responsibilities • Support students in accessing learning through personalised and adapted activities • Work closely with teachers to manage behaviour and promote engagement • Provide pastoral support and act as a positive role model • Assist with planning, preparation and classroom organisation • Help monitor progress and contribute to record-keeping and reporting • Support students’ social, emotional and personal development • Work collaboratively with staff, parents and external professionals • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and a safe learning environment Requirements • Experience working with children or young people (SEN or challenging behaviour desirable) • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) • NVQ Level 2 minimum (Level 3 or SEN qualification desirable • Confident communicator who can build strong relationships • Patient, empathetic and resilient approach • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Full UK driving licence desirable At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority and all applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding procedures.
