Maintenance Team Lead – Barry Callebaut Group
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Team Lead will organize and manage a reactive maintenance operation that maximizes plant availability while minimizing machine downtime. The role focuses on developing and leading a team of highly skilled technicians, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with safety, health, and quality standards.
Key
* Manage a weekend team of planned preventive maintenance technicians, ensuring they have all the tools, parts, and equipment to perform their duties.
* Set standards and objectives for the maintenance function in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager and monitor performance against them.
* Analyze downtime trends, identify problematic assets, and recommend actions or investment opportunities.
* Suggest improvements based on team experience and data to improve equipment reliability.
* Record and log breakdowns accurately into Maximo.
* Compile business cases for technical improvements and produce investment proposals.
* Provide technical support during design and implementation phases of investment proposals.
* Collaborate with production management and project engineers to enhance reliability and efficiency of the production process.
* Offer professional, technical backup on engineering issues, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
* Coordinate effective appraisal, training, development, and motivation of staff to achieve high performance.
* Drive the safety culture of the department, maintaining and improving safety standards.
Qualifications
* Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in engineering or maintenance discipline.
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering maintenance.
* Minimum five years’ experience in a maintenance supervisory role with industrial experience.
* IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable.
* Current knowledge of all Health & Safety Regulations, particularly CDM.
* Working knowledge of Siemens software for fault‑finding purposes.
* SIX sigma Green Belt or above desirable.
* Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and CMMS systems.
* Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance and TPM strategies.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time‑management skills.
Shift Pattern
Wednesday 12:00‑18:00 and Thursday to Saturday 07:00‑18:00 – 39 hours per week.
