Customer Service Operator — Glasgow

We are looking for a Customer Service Operator to join our branch in Glasgow. The role involves building, managing and maintaining relationships with customers under the direction of the Customer Service Manager, and managing the day‑to‑day operations of the customers in your portfolio while ensuring agreed service levels and financial targets are achieved.

Responsibilities
* Serve as the first point of contact for all matters related to your assigned portfolio of customers.
* Communicate updates to customers via phone or email.
* Manage the customer service cycle from start to finish, ensuring that key information required to prepare quotes and process consignments is compliant with HMRC customs.
* Provide a variety of quotes to customers to meet their evolving requirements.
* Ensure commodity codes and invoices are correct and processed for dispatch.
* Proactively engage existing customers to generate income.
* Respond to problems or concerns from customers within the required turnaround time.
Qualifications
* Strong, confident personality with an internal sales or customer service background.
* Excellent time‑management and communication skills, both face‑to‑face and over the phone.
* Good numerical aptitude.
* At least 2 years of commercial office experience, ideally some exposure to a logistics role.
* Excellent communicator dedicated to superior customer service.
* Desire to improve gross profit margins.
