The Orchard is a 14-bed residential care home, offering exceptional care. The Orchard has been built on the grounds of our sister home, Ganarew in Monmouthshire. Hours: 25-30 hours per week Required Qualifications: Must be fluent in verbal and written English. A full clean driving licence is preferable. Key Responsibilities: Activity Planning and Delivery - Designing and implementing a diverse range of activities that cater to the physical, social, mental, and emotional well-being of residents. Person-Centered Care -Ensuring that activities are tailored to the individual needs, interests, and life stories of residents, promoting their independence and autonomy. Engagement and Participation - Encouraging residents to participate in activities, fostering a sense of community, and creating opportunities for meaningful interactions. Community Engagement -Building relationships with residents, their families, and the wider community to enhance the overall experience and support network. Mentoring and Support -Potentially mentoring and training other staff members on how to engage with residents and support them in their daily lives. Record Keeping and Reporting - Maintaining records of resident participation and documenting the impact of activities on their well-being. Essential Skills and Qualities: Organizational Skills -Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage activities effectively. Communication Skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with residents, families, and colleagues. Interpersonal Skills - Ability to build rapport with residents, empathize with their needs, and create a welcoming and inclusive environment. Creativity and Enthusiasm -A passion for creating engaging and stimulating activities that enhance residents' lives. Knowledge of Person-Centered Care - Understanding the principles of person-centered care and its application in a care home setting. Experience in a Care Setting -Experience in organizing and leading activities, preferably in a care home or healthcare environment. Basic IT Skills -Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is often required.
