The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Bolton Council's Licensing Team.
The team plays an integral role in licensing and compliance for various sectors, including taxi industry, licensed premises for alcohol, regulated entertainment, late night refreshment, gambling, sexual entertainment, scrap metal, street trading, second hand dealers, and charity collections.
The role involves assisting in the efficient administration and processing of applications for licenses and permits issued by the Council, ensuring legal requirements and council conditions are met.
You will also handle monies, deal with customers, manage complex enquiries, provide advice, and ensure high standards of service delivery.
About You:
You must be IT proficient, capable of producing reports for analysis, and able to respond flexibly to changing demands. You should be able to manage and prioritize your own casework within specific timescales, with a focus on accuracy and record-keeping.
Experience in face-to-face and telephone customer service, handling difficult or emotional customers sympathetically, and experience with money handling and banking reconciliation are required.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and experience in licensing within a Local Authority is preferred but not essential.
