Our client Scottish Power Renewables are currently recruiting for a Consent Compliance Manager to join their team based in London or Glasgow on a contract basis initially. Ideally for this role they are looking for an experienced Offshore Consents and Compliance Manager with a strong Environmental background. For more information on this role see below:
Main Purpose of Job
You will have a key role within the Offshore Development Team leading the delivery of offshore consent
compliance and project management support for the offshore elements of large-scale offshore wind projects
in the UK reporting to the Senior Project Manager. The role may also involve supporting the Senior Project
Manager with onshore workstreams as required.
Leading and managing a number of multi-disciplinary teams will be a key feature of the role. Establishing,
fostering and maintaining team spirit and morale through periods of intense workload and activity will be a
critical feature. Communication is another key feature of this role, should it be communications with
regulators, local communities or our consultants. You will be working as part of a global business based in
the UK. The position will require frequent travel to various site locations.
Key Tasks
• Agreement, management and forecasting of necessary budgets
• Production of workscopes and specifications for delivery at all stages of a project as necessary, and
manage the completion of these on time and on budget
• Provision of technical consent compliance support to the project team as required
• Management of consultants and legal inputs as necessary
• Input to commercial agreements and contracts to ensure project risks are mitigated
• Management of tender processes and tender assessment for surveys, studies and technical
support and take forward recommendations for business approval
• Contribution to the identification and management of risks, issues and impacts to the projects
• Work with wider offshore development team to ensure effective liaison with national Government
and regulatory authorities
• Ensure high levels of quality control
• Ensure that the projects maintain high levels of health and safety standards
• Manage risk register (and associated contractual material) and disseminate accordingly
• Attend kick off meetings, site investigation meetings etc to ensure contractors and project staff are
aware of obligations within consents, landowner agreements or other relevant permissions as
required by the specific role Attend project meetings as required
• Complete and maintain accurate records in accordance with the company’s document
management procedures
• Completed monthly reporting
• Contract and manage support required through any consent / development related processes,
Compulsory Acquisition processes and any other specific contracts required
• Liaison and coordination with engineering packages, consultants and contractors delivering the
design, survey, consenting, construction and ensuring compliance throughout all phases of the
project
• Work with Stakeholder Manager, Environment Manager and Land Manager as appropriate
• Manage SPR representation to other development application processes which may impact on our
assets
• Management of consent compliance processes in line with the agreed schedules and budgets
• Lead consultation with regulators and key stakeholders where necessary
• Lead and participate in identification and implementation of compliance and land strategies.
Key Criteria
• Essential
• Degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Management, Planning, Environmental
Engineering, Environmental Science or other relevant professional qualification in obtaining
consents for large scale infrastructure
• Relevant experience in the development and/or consent compliance for major infrastructure
projects in the UK and/or discharging pre- commencement conditions for major infrastructure
projects in the UK.
• Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
• IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management
software
• Flexible to travel around the various UK locations where necessary
• Desirable
• Relevant experience in management of multi-disciplinary teams. Understanding of the consent
compliance process in England & Wales, particularly the regulatory framework and consenting
process and awareness of construction methods and requirements.

• Strong planning and analysis skills with the ability to look forward and anticipate problems and
thereafter plan and implement mitigating solutions
