We are looking for a dynamic copywriter for a new Content Squad at Greenpark. This is a dedicated content role with the primary objective of maximising website traffic and brand awareness for an FMCG in the USA. This role will be in South Africa and managed out of South Africa and the UK. Editorial excellence, brand affinity, performance mindset and creative ideas will all be essential to this role. Preference is given to writers who understand the intricacies of navigating regulatory bodies and understand proper referencing and rigour around personal care, healthcare and wellbeing writing. This person will be expected to attend meetings with the client in the USA so some flexibility around time zones will be required.

Why the job exists
1. To work with the Content Squad Lead in crafting engaging SEO optimised copy for a large FMCG brand based in the US.
2. To intimately understand the FMCG and its brands to represent them immaculately in the written word.
3. To assist in content planning, ways of working and content production and processing.
4. To establish and maintain tone of voice and brand guidelines and be guardians of these guidelines.
5. To help with multiple content executions across and web and social and to recommend ways of working around this.
6. To work closely with creative to create visuals to accompany every piece of written content.
7. To ensure the highest level of editorial quality is produced consistently and to deadline.
What the job covers
8. Delivering the highest quality editorial content, based on performance analytics to the client each month.
9. Supporting the planning and scheduling of editorial and social content production.
10. Supporting the client and content squad with creative ideation and with maintaining tone of voice across all platforms.
Responsibilities
11. Writing SEO-lead editorial copy for a variety of brands in multiple formats, as required.
12. Working closely with the SEO team on delivering highly optimised content.
13. Create and maintain editorial content calendars that align to strategic priorities.
14. Working within editorial and channel best practices to deliver exceptional quality for our clients.
15. Participating in ideation sessions for content creation, where required.
16. Be aware of trends in the subject matter and which are good opportunities for the brand.
Required Experience
17. 2-3 years writing optimised SEO copy in the digital space for different channels including web and social.
18. Experience writing about personal care, healthcare and wellbeing and best practices around referencing.
19. Experience in talking to and interviewing experts to inform article creation.
20. Keen understanding of SEO and editorial best practices.
21. Experience in writing non-search based editorial content.
22. Ability to adapt to brand tone of voice and turn their hand to different subject matter day-to-day.
23. Ideal but not essential - experience in localisation and transcreation for different markets, especially in writing for the US.
