We are seeking a compassionate and creative Activity Coordinator to plan, organise, and facilitate a variety of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of our residents. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about promoting social interaction, physical movement, cognitive stimulation, and emotional support through innovative programming.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain a weekly activity schedule that includes group and individual activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, games, exercise, outings, and cultural celebrations.
* Assess residents' interests, preferences, and abilities through regular engagement and tailor activities accordingly.
* Encourage participation, foster social connections, and create a sense of community among residents.
* Collaborate with care staff and families to ensure activities meet residents' care plans and enhance their quality of life.
* Organise special events and community outings safely and efficiently.
* Maintain records of activities, resident participation, and feedback for continuous improvement.
* Ensure all activity equipment and spaces are well maintained and safe for use.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in activity coordination, recreational therapy, or similar roles (preferably in a care or nursing home setting).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage individuals with diverse needs.
* Creativity and flexibility in planning and adapting activities.
* Organisational skills to manage scheduling and resources.
* Empathy, patience, and a passion for improving residents' lives.
* Basic knowledge of safety, hygiene, and safeguarding standards.
Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training is an advantage.
