Job Title: HGV Technician
Location: Crosshands, Carmarthenshire
Job Overview: Our client, a long-established franchise-approved commercial vehicle dealership, is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their busy Service Department. Reporting to the Branch Manager and working as part of a team, your main responsibilities will include:
1. Completing all service and maintenance work to the highest quality and efficiency within manufacturer timeframes.
2. Providing professional performance in all work activities to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
3. Supporting colleagues with technical issues and innovations.
4. Carrying out diagnosis and repairs of malfunctions comprehensively.
5. Adhering to all company policies and procedures relevant to your role.
6. Documenting diagnosis, repairs, services, and safety inspections accurately.
Qualifications and Skills: Candidates should be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or possess substantial practical experience as a HGV Technician. A valid HGV driving license is advantageous but not essential. The ideal candidate will be committed, a team player, capable of producing high-quality work in a busy environment, and motivated to meet targets.
Salary and Benefits:
* Starting salary up to £16-18 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, increasing to £16.50-18.50 after probation.
* Overtime paid at enhanced rates of time and a half or double time.
* Performance-based quarterly bonus of up to £2,000 annually.
* Optional breakdown assistance van coverage on a 1 in 3/4 weekly rota, earning £350 per shift plus a £30 call-out fee outside of hours.
* 23 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, increasing with service.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a split shift rota: week one from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, week two from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Also, 1 in 2 Saturdays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, paid as overtime.
