We are currently looking for someone to join our Payroll Bureau as a Payroll Officer. The successful candidate will be joining a leading not-for-profit organisation that provides independent living services to people with disabilities and health care needs nationwide.

Salary: £25,469 per annum / £20,672 pro rata

The Role
The Role –As a Payroll Officer, your main duties will include:
* Providing an efficient computerised Payroll Service using specialist software
* Monitoring and updating all records relating to PAYE including submissions using Real Time Information (RTI)
* Regular liaison with HMRC, Inland Revenue and all other related governing bodies
* Providing information and advice to service users in relation to PAYE, SMP, SPP and SSP when needed
* Setting up new employees on the payroll service
* Collating and conveying customer information relating to Tax and National Insurance Liability in line with statutory requirements
* Ensuring data is stored securely in line with data protection
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Skills, Experience and Qualifications - We are looking for someone with the following attributes:
* Previous experience of working in a payroll and/or finance department
* Ability to input and maintain accurate data records
* Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
* Excellent telephone manner
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
* Ability to work flexibly and to deadlines
* Minimum GCSE Grade '4' or equivalent in English and Maths
* A qualification in bookkeeping, credit control entry level CIPP would be desirable
