Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an 18.75-hour, part-time, permanent Band 2 Clerical Officer to join the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. The role is within the Hand Therapy, Plastics, and Burns Therapy Team. We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organized administrator to support our friendly therapy team. The successful candidate will assist with patient support in the Hand Therapy, Plastics, and Burns services, including managing outpatient referrals, booking appointments, and handling general enquiries. Attention to detail, excellent communication, and IT skills are essential. The role may involve inputting statistics and information into the Trust's systems. You will be supported by the administrative team leader but must be capable of planning your workload effectively. Previous NHS administration experience is desirable. Main Duties
1. Provide a welcoming environment for patients, including covering reception duties.
2. Handle designated clerical responsibilities within the department.
3. Lead administrative tasks, utilizing IT systems in line with departmental KPIs.
4. Promote effective, customer-focused communication with patients and service users.
5. Respond to telephone and face-to-face enquiries following departmental guidelines.
6. Manage appointments, including requesting, cancelling, and rescheduling, in line with targets.
7. Manage patient records confidentially, ensuring accurate and prompt dispatch of documentation.
8. Store and scan records, such as referral letters, accurately and timely.
9. Assist with preparing outpatient records as needed.
10. Operate Trust IT systems to ensure correct data entry and updates.
11. Perform general administrative duties and clerical assistance as required.
12. Track and book hospital records using the Trust's File Tracker system.
13. Handle incoming goods and post for the ward/department.
